My first Wedding of the decade was the Adelaide Hills nuptials of ‘Jonathon and Kirstie’. Every aspect of their day was contained within a small pocket of the hills. This meant their travel was reduced and photo opportunities were maximised.
My day began with preparation photos of both the boys and the girls. Jonathon based himself at his family home in Bridgewater, whilst Kirstie stayed at Villa Lemoni (Adelaide Hills Retreats).
They held their Ceremony at Littlewood Agapanthus Farm and were blessed with great weather for the unreliable month of January. Kerry Tudor officiated their service which began with an emotional groom first laying eyes on his bride. I always love listening to Kerry’s ceremonies as I get to learn something new about my couple. Jonathon’s tears were soon smiles and the newlyweds were greeted with a traditional rose petal ambush.
The Reception was a DIY extravaganza located at ‘Paddock Weddings’ in Basket Range. The set up was a Wed-Fest with lawn games, food truck style catering, festoon lights and bunting. Given the evening hills chill factor, guests were warned to rug up and rations had been arranged for those who didn’t. Yes it was January, but it got down to 10 degrees!!
I was able to steal the couple away for some photos in the neighbouring field and upon our return formalities were kept light. Thank you to ‘The Graham’s’ for allowing me to capture your day and to all your family and friends for making me so welcome.
