Nathan and Nicole are high school sweethearts who drifted apart only to reconnect years later. Their marriage in late March, at Mount Lofty House, was an affirmation of this reunion.
Despite the frequency of my visits, this was only my second Wedding to occur on the new Piccadilly Lawns. They had arguably the best overcast weather that preserved those endless views.
Both the boys and girls were on site for preparations and I spent time with each as they donned their finery. Nathan was a touch nervous, but his entourage ensured that laughs were a plenty.
Nicole looked classic in her golden gown and completed her look with just a few items. The first was her Great Grandmother’s heirloom necklace and the second a stunning belt by Stephanie Brown.
The time to wed soon rolled around. As Nicole gently made her way down from the house, Nathan and the boys stood patiently waiting. By now, Nathan’s other most important attendant had arrived…. their fur baby BASIL.
Kerry Tudor officiated their marriage against a truly picturesque setting. Guests were invited to partake in a ring warming ceremony as the precious bands were passed around in search of well wishes. At the conclusion of their ceremony, folks celebrated their union with a shower of petals before pre dinner drinks.
Like any kid at a Wedding, Basil was pretty tired from all the excitement. With formalities over his doting parents gave plenty of loving cuddles before it was time for this weary pooch to leave. The bridal party then roamed the grounds for some photos before settling into their Reception.
This couple put an incredible amount of DIY into their Wedding. Nathan made his own Beef Jerky bonbonniere and was responsible for the cake topper and guests wooden names. Nicole painted the majority of their signage and sketched her own finger print tree which she framed the morning of the Wedding. Clever little personal touches that helped put their own signature spin on this special celebration.
