I first met Emily and Josh at her sister’s Wedding in January 2017. There was talk of another ‘Engagement’ in the air and sure enough, later this year, Emily got in touch. I must say that capturing the Weddings of two sisters in the same year has been a real honour.
In contrast to her sister’s Adelaide Hills Wedding, Emily opted for an intimate Fleurieu Wedding with only 17 guests. This couple personalised their union by keeping certain traditions intact whilst ditching others. They opted against having a bridal party and the guest list was kept to only immediate family.
The service was conducted by Emily’s Grandfather, in a family tradition that now spreads across the generations. Plus, the father-of-the-bride drove his daughter to her Wedding in his beloved Daimler, as he did for Emily’s sister.
With the absence of a bridal party, I only had the bride and groom during creative photos. Emily and Josh bravely trusted me with the location choice. Picturesque coastline, stormy skies and a sweet couple on top of a windy hill. It’s the stuff we photographers dream of!!
The light dropped off and I followed behind the Daimler as it wound it’s way back to the venue. I left Emily and Josh to enjoy their first meal as husband and wife surrounded by the people who mattered the most.
