The Wedding of ‘Rohan and Brigid’ remains one of my all time favourites.
After years of photographing nuptials, theirs would be my first Scottish affair… and the tartans were truly mesmerising. From the colours of the Groomsmen to that of the Brides family, there were kilts everywhere.
Brigid and Rohan didn’t have any preparation photos and decided to have coverage from the Ceremony onwards. They chose a quaint little church in Stirling, Our Lady of the Rosary, which was filled to capacity. Guests were serenaded into the church with the tune of bagpipes which then escorted Brigid down the aisle.
Their little fellow, Patrick, was somewhat of a show-stopper. He was good enough to let Mum and Dad get through the formalities before joining them front and centre. Rohan’s Uncle conducted the service, adding to the fact that this Wedding was all about family, heritage and tradition.
I was lucky enough to have Rohan and Brigid trust me with their location choice for photos following the Ceremony. A combination of right place, right time of day and an awesome bridal party generated the lovely collection of rustic sun kissed images. I could have easily shot here till the sun went down, but it was time to zip up the hill to Mount Lofty House for their Reception.
Here, the couple joined their guests for pre dinner drinks before formally entering their Reception. At this point, I said my goodbyes and went home one chuffed little photographer!! I look forward to designing this Wedding Album in the near future.
